Alrite Treacle?! It's another week, and the Mills team are back for another week of shows. And I'm back with the reviews. It's all good. Well apart from the fact that Craig's still in the Big Brother house.
Scott wanted to hear who's at work today listening to the Mills show. He asked for listeners to 'crash his e-mail'. There's a lot wearing comedy glasses or are very hungover. There wasn’t much response from the Welsh.
At the weekend Scott claimed he hadn't had any wine, as he'd had an ear infection. Chappers did a gig in Swindon with Dave, but didn't really want to talk about it. Apparently they wanted R'n'B which of course they didn't have. Sound like a hard crowd to please…
Orlaith
Orlaith left the house this weekend, and was speaking to Chris Moyles this week. Orlaith gave Moyles the Flirt Divert number and just after 10.30 he left a message.
Moyles: 'Don't be jealous Dave, some people have it… some don't'
Chris turned her down, and then mentioned that he'd like to hear from her sister.
Heap of Crap?
This week's Record of The Week is Imogen Heap's 'Hide and Seek'. Scott was expecting quite a lot of stick about this song, but I personally think it's pretty cool. Chappers seems to hate it though, and so does a lot of the texters. Perhaps it's a grower. Chappers argues that if it was played at the end of Holby City no would like it. One of the team members that doesn't speak gave Scott a lecture about choosing this track.
Laura: Megaphone and Violin comes separately
Laura the Vigilante
Yeeeeees! Laura the Vigilante is back – fighting for truth, justice and a large glass of wine. Sarah was having trouble with the local builders who keep shouting pervy comments at her when she passes and it's doing Sarah's head in. Armed with her megaphone, Laura was at the building site where Sarah had been harassed and gave the builders a taste of their own medicine.
Laura: 'Alrite Darling show us your man boobs… Get your builders crack out for the girls… Show us your tools'.
One gave Laura a peak at their spanner. Laura ran when the police arrived and she was told to 'stop exciting the builders'. A lot of builders were on the texts claiming they're not all like that.
Flirt Divert UK
Flirt Divert
Someone gave a guy the Flirt Divert number, and asked him to follow them, and then lost him. One person (possibly a mum) was looking for a girl called 'Kirsty' to ring about a case – although Chappers' reckons it could be a solicitor. One guy ringing a sailor or 'Sarah', and really is why Flirt Divert was invented. And finally, some girl who got given the Flirt Divert number by a guy and then tried to dump him by ringing up telling him he wasn't the 'right shape or size'.
Don't forget the Flirt Divert UK number – 0777 459 875 0.
Tonight you can hear anything apart from Rachel Steven's 'More More More' because that's rated R. Tonight songs included Daniel Powter, Blink 182, NERD and Athlete. Tonight's callers included a man on a tractor, a guy who'd dropped his phone in paint, one girl who had a lot of sea gulls in the background and a girl who sounded like she had a cigarette in her mouth. There was a habit of callers not knowing the name of the track they were requesting including Coldplay's 'Fix It' better known as 'Fix You'. Tonight's 'Most Wanted' was the Kaiser Chiefs and 'I Predict a Riot'.
Rate My Swimwear Person
Rate Them Happy
Tonight's Rate My Swimwear Person is Andy from Lowestoft. Scott wants to know whether he's got a cauliflower in his pants. His best friend Steve sent in the photograph, which Radio 1 doesn't condone, as the person in the swimwear is supposed to submit the photograph. His ideal girlfriend would be Makosi off of Big Brother. Go to Radio 1 online and rate him happy…
Jordan… Just don't mention the Eurovision
Chappers the Gift Giver
Chappers wasn't very successful with the Paris Hilton wedding present idea and the muffin tray, but he's decided he's going to try Jordan and Peter's wedding. Chappers wants to give her a 'garlic squeezer'.
Also tonight…
Much talk about thongs as it was the Newsbeat discussion. Apparently they're being phased out. Scott was completely against the ideas of thongs and one guy reckoned the guy on Flirt Divert was from Northern Ireland and thought it was Colin Murray. Chappers told him it was infact Scotland before claiming 'they all sound the same'. And Chappers was reportedly seen on Newsround tonight and callers were shocked at Chappers’ looks.
