The old pound needed a proper send-off
Scott and Chris wanted to mark the final days of the old round £1 coin but struggled to find a suitably exciting radio idea.
Their first attempt involved sticking a pound coin to the floor and waiting for somebody to try to pick it up, which Scott admitted produced such a poor video that it barely deserved publishing.
Then they realised there was an obvious spokesman for the currency: the One Pound Fish Man.
Muhammad Shahid Nazir joined them and happily accepted a new song written to the tune of his Michael Jackson follow-up.
The key lyric was simple: “New one-pound coin, it’s got eight sides, it is lovely.”
Nazir sang it back and Scott immediately declared it a banger.
Disciples played the Pete Tong Game
Disciples were Tune of the Week with “Jealousy” and came in to see Scott and Chris.
The trio were challenged with the Pete Tong Game, where they had to decide whether increasingly unlikely DJ names were genuine performers or inventions created by the show.
The discussion also exposed the practicalities of being a three-person DJ act: occasionally only two members could make a booking, although they agreed that sending just one Disciple would be pushing it.
Borrowed speeches were exposed
A listener’s best-man speech prompted another confession.
Scott and Chris asked whether people had ever lifted whole sections from films or television programmes and passed them off as their own inspiring words at weddings, interviews or other important moments.
They suspected far more supposedly heartfelt speeches contained lines borrowed from screenwriters than anybody would normally admit.
