Scott’s beef stew became a Twitter event
Scott had cooked a beef stew and, because he and Chris were travelling to a Freshers gig in Lincoln, packed some into a plastic takeaway container for the journey.
Chris photographed it.
That was the mistake.
The food had apparently tasted perfectly respectable, but the combination of brown stew, plastic tub and disposable fork photographed disastrously. Chris tweeted the picture, partly because David Hasselhoff had developed a habit of rating people’s meals online.
Hasselhoff did not immediately respond, but everybody else did. Listeners compared it with dog food, questioned whether Chris was near a toilet and suggested the photograph could be used as evidence if he became ill.
The reaction became big enough to appear as a Twitter Moment, which Scott regarded as spectacularly unfair treatment for an act of kindness.
Rita Ora played the Honesty Game
Rita Ora came in after her Live Lounge performance and agreed to answer questions from the show’s random Honesty Game.
Asked which song she least enjoyed performing, she chose “Hot Right Now” — not because she disliked it, but because it was so high and fast that performing it could feel like a workout.
She said her accountant kept her on a tight leash financially and admitted clothes and food were where she was most likely to spend.
Asked for the worst way she had ended a relationship, Rita said she had never dumped somebody by text but had been involved in a break-up over FaceTime. She used her one permitted pass when asked who had appeared in her most recent naughty dream.
Freshers season was fully under way
Scott and Chris were already feeling the effects of travelling around university events. They had played Lincoln the previous night and discussed the strange first few days in halls, when students were still meeting neighbours, decorating rooms and working out which new friendships might last.
