Ania wanted her washing back
The week of complaints continued with Ania, who estimated that she complained two or three times a month but insisted she only did so when it was deserved.
Her latest dispute was with a laundry where her clothes had become mixed up with somebody else’s washing. She and boyfriend Sean had been forced to pick their possessions from a pile, and some items were still missing. The losses included expensive Italian lace underwear costing roughly £40 to £60 each.
Chris read her complaint back in the suitably formal voice it deserved, including threats to take matters further if the problem was not resolved.
Then Ania casually mentioned Naked Attraction
As the conversation appeared to be ending, Ania remarked that being on Radio 1 was almost as exciting as when she had appeared on Naked Attraction.
Scott and Chris stopped everything.
Ania explained that producers had approached her through Instagram about a dating programme and only later revealed that it involved nudity. She still agreed to take part. Scott and Chris, longtime fascinated viewers of the show, suddenly had a long list of questions about what filming was actually like, including the temperature of the studio and the experience of judging prospective dates as the screen gradually revealed them.
The Beast really did walk on to The Chase theme
The programme also finally received a first-hand report from The Beast’s Portsmouth nightclub appearance. Listener Dean had attended specifically to meet Mark Labbett and described him entering to The Chase theme before greeting fans and posing for photos.
Scott was delighted by the image of the club DJ then having to mix from a television quiz-show theme back into ordinary dance music.
A discussion of listeners creating miniature festivals in their own gardens was less harmonious. Scott dismissed the increasingly elaborate family events as being for “poshos”, prompting immediate disagreement from Chris and the audience.
