Michelle Keegan explains an awkward scene
While covering Breakfast, Scott speaks to Michelle Keegan about the new series of Our Girl. Her family watched a particularly intimate opening scene together, leaving her brother staring rigidly ahead between their parents.
Michelle says filming was far less glamorous than the finished sequence, with about 20 crew members present and constant technical interruptions. Scott enjoys the interview before returning for an afternoon programme without Chris.
A message for the wrong conversation
Unlucky Gary already has a distinguished history of misfortune, including being dumped at a Chinese buffet and taking an accidental fall in front of Jay-Z. His latest incident begins when he exchanges private pictures with somebody while simultaneously arranging drinks with Scott on WhatsApp.
Gary sends Scott a photograph of himself lying on a Union Jack duvet. His attempt to stop it by switching to flight mode fails, although a second and apparently worse image is blocked. Scott promises to delete the picture while teasing Gary about the carefully hung shirt and tie visible behind him. Listeners respond with their own stories of pictures sent to friends, group chats and Snapchat stories.
The Whooo Game expands
With Chris away, Scott takes on eight callers in the Whooo Game. Their forgotten subjects include polyphonic ringtones sent by Bluetooth, Stars in Their Eyes, RedOne introductions, Switch cards, Tico Time, cycling proficiency tests and using a pen to rescue cassette tape.
Olly Murs later plays Real or No Real, but the programme’s defining contest is the unusually strong field of listeners refusing to run out of nostalgia.
