An Olympian orders the whole menu
Real or No Real considers self-healing fabric made with proteins from squid tentacles. The claim sounds ridiculous but is genuine: pressing the torn material together can repair it. An Australian badminton player ordering six portions of fries, 40 nuggets, six burgers and six brownies after leaving the Olympics is also real.
Scott and Chris approve of the post-competition feast, particularly when they discover that the food in the Olympic village is free. It reminds Chris of a friend who once pointed at every photograph on a chicken-shop menu and asked for the lot.
Face Case fails its first journey
Georgia from Manchester calls Deborah Meaden with Face Case, luggage printed with the owner’s face. She argues that nobody could mistake the case at an airport carousel or take it without being seen.
Deborah prefers a ribbon or coloured strap and says she would never want her own face displayed on luggage. Georgia tries to turn that objection into proof that thieves would avoid the case, but Deborah refuses to be trapped into endorsing it. She likes Georgia more than the product and encourages her to return with a stronger idea. Scott sees a route onto the real Dragons’ Den, where Georgia could remind Deborah that they have already met.
The Vamps arrive without Brad
Connor Ball, James McVey and Tristan Evans visit without Brad Simpson, who is resting his voice. They discuss announcing the Radio 1 Teen Awards line-up, working on their third album, an upcoming collaboration in India and Brad’s appearance on Celebrity First Dates.
The three members then join Chris for Innuendo Bingo. Olympic weightlifting, beach volleyball and swimming combine with Inside the Factory, Bargain Hunt and Antiques Roadshow. James is repeatedly hit and finally removes himself from the game, declaring that he will not do it again, while Connor and Tristan survive to the end.
