14 April 2016: Matt Edmondson faces a very wet Innuendo Bingo

Matt takes the wet seat

Matt Edmondson insisted he was genuinely pleased to return for Innuendo Bingo, unlike guests who offered that reassurance out of politeness. Scott repeatedly introduced him through a Vicky Pollard joke, but Matt’s own identity became unmistakable once he joined Chris at the microphones.

The clips included cooking instructions about gently handling balls, Bear Grylls: The Island and an unfortunate discussion of a “hairy plughole”. Matt attacked the game with enough enthusiasm to leave both players and the studio exceptionally wet, confirming that the feature had lost none of its force after the comeback week.

Another match at Chester

Library Tennis returned to Chester University, this time at the Warrington campus. Tom hid near a tree chest while Bex waited elsewhere in a packed quiet-study area. Both spoke in whispers before beginning a rally of progressively louder grunts.

A nearby student challenged Tom, who instinctively claimed he was “just playing tennis”. Bex then produced the stronger final shot, forcing Tom to leave before the attention became more serious. Both contestants escaped without formal trouble and met afterwards to shake hands.

Breakfast plans grow

Greg James won Real or No Real by 20 points to 10. Scott and Chris also confirmed that Battle of the Bangers would continue when they covered the Radio 1 Breakfast Show for two weeks.

The following morning would bring Little Mix and Michael McIntyre, while Monday’s show would reveal the complete main-stage line-up for Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Exeter. The afternoon programme was therefore already beginning its transition into a much larger Breakfast run.
