Jake Wood creates a weekend disagreement
Chris texted Scott during Strictly to praise Jake Wood’s Macarena-heavy samba and ask again for him to play Innuendo Bingo. Scott read the praise as an unhelpful comparison with his own crab dance.
Jake had already expressed interest, but rehearsals and major EastEnders storylines left little time. Chris accused Scott of blocking a stronger contestant, while Scott promised to keep trying and warned that publicly supporting reality-show acts often preceded their elimination.
Zayn’s single strand of hair
One Direction’s appearance at the American Music Awards produced a global discussion about one strand of Zayn Malik’s hair falling across his forehead. It gained its own Twitter account and inspired declarations that its existence restored faith in miracles.
Scott struggled to understand why one loose section had become an event, despite having spent enough time with the band to know that every change to Zayn’s hair would be analysed.

After the success of the Sia lesson, Felicia returned with a guide to Ariana Grande’s “Problem”. Its rapid high notes and relaxed mouth position made the new lesson more difficult than the Sia exercise.

The shouting man passes the test
The anonymous X Factor caller had promised to prove his identity by inserting “Danny Howard” into the live result. He delivered, even though Only the Young had already been eliminated the previous evening.
He continued shouting their name through Sunday’s programme and clearly added the requested Radio 1 reference. The band had advised him not to do it, but the surrounding audience laughed and began asking whether Scott Mills had arranged it.
He planned to keep his identity secret and hoped to attend the Wembley final. Philip Schofield and Rylan Clark had already discussed the phenomenon on This Morning, confirming that the shout had escaped Radio 1 completely.
Olly Murs becomes the face of Christmas
Radio 1 announced that Olly Murs would launch Christmas on 1 December by co-hosting Breakfast and performing a festive Live Lounge. Scott thought Olly’s willingness to wear flashing jumpers and antlers made him the perfect choice.
