Stooshe inspect the bus and Chris worries about Krakow’s height rule
The show’s opening listener had the same name as the presenter and said people had mistaken him for a Radio 1 DJ when he contacted a record label. Scott was amused by the possibility that a teenager might accidentally find himself offered the perks intended for somebody much better known.
Chris then explained that he and his flatmate had chosen Krakow for their annual lads’ weekend. A message on Twitter claimed that men below five feet five could not enter the city’s clubs, which became a genuine concern because Chris’s friend was not obviously far above the alleged limit.
Stooshe arrived to look around the show bus, taking in its Hello Kitty touches, emergency rosé and shelf of condiments. Their visit also brought back memories of their first Brit Awards, where they found it slightly surreal to be recognised by artists they had grown up watching on television.
Matt Edmondson joined the studio and became part of a revived round of Facebook Group or Not. The game tested whether increasingly implausible group names really existed, including groups about automatic doors making people feel like Jedi and girls who looked like Jeremy Clarkson.
The edition had no need for a grand centrepiece, because it was held together by the show’s particular kind of low-stakes anxiety: a flatmate’s height, a tour of a cramped bus and the possibility that somebody, somewhere, had actually joined a ridiculous Facebook group.
