Chris is slapped with a fish in a brutal new game
Scott, Beccy and Chris opened Friday by talking about Olly Murs’s new behind-the-scenes programme and the point at which being followed by cameras would become unbearable. Chris then revealed that, during the hosepipe ban, he had tried to eat a Pot Noodle dry rather than add water. He described it as disgusting, which did not come as a surprise to anybody else in the studio.
The show also returned to the fallout from the previous day’s Innuendo Bingo, when Beccy’s top had accidentally slipped as she sprayed water. Scott noted that the moment had brought in curious listeners, but argued that it was unlikely to be repeated immediately. Beccy then confessed that, after saying she would not, she had gone to see Steps at the O2 and thoroughly enjoyed the show, even watching Lee Latchford-Evans get stuck below the stage during his solo.
The most memorable feature was Danny Howard’s game, Slapping Me Around the Face. Chris was unable to see what was coming as Scott and Beccy hit him around the face with a fish, a cream éclair and finally a cold cup of tea, asking him to identify each item. The fish left material in his ear, the éclair made him fear he might be sick, and the tea was the only one he correctly recognised straight away.
Beccy’s Show and Tell collected genuine missed-connections adverts, including an admirer seeking the woman who had walked into a unisex toilet while he was using it, and another who had spotted somebody with a Quaker Oats tattoo. The team were particularly entertained by a man who had watched a drunk woman urinate in his car park, given her and her friends wine and toilet roll, and still hoped romance might follow.
The programme finished with a final old-school Beccy Raps performance, tackling Will Smith’s Miami with Chris providing the requested backing vocals. It was an especially chaotic Friday even by the show’s standards: dry noodles, an accidental Steps trip, desperate personal ads and Chris ending the morning covered in food and tea.
