Scott realises he smells “like a lady” and Beccy faces the cosmetic-surgery game
Scott announced an unexpected breaking-news item early in the programme: he smelled “like a lady”. Having run out of men’s deodorant, he had used the Lily of the Valley product his mum had left behind after staying at his house. The team immediately treated the scent as evidence of a complete change in identity rather than a temporary bathroom shortage.
The main game asked Scott, Beccy and Chris to predict the cosmetic surgery each of the others would choose. Chris said he would like to be taller, only to learn that both Scott and Beccy had assumed he wanted a smaller head. The laughter became uncomfortable in the exact way the show expected, with Chris wondering aloud whether he had somehow become a caricature without being told.
Beccy was equally candid about the changes she thought she might make, listing her eyes, eyebrows, forehead and hair before the game had properly found its footing. Scott tried to keep the tone affectionate, but the feature’s appeal came from how quickly a supposedly light discussion could become a minor group therapy session.
Alan Dedicoat’s accidental transformation into the show’s favourite actor continued too. After earlier turns as Chandler, Mr Darcy and an EastEnders character, the team imagined him as a golf commentator and an Antiques Roadshow expert. His distinctive voice made every role sound improbably authoritative, which only encouraged Scott to keep finding new uses for it.
Frisky and Mannish joined the programme with another pop parody and a discussion about what makes male pop performers distinctive. Their visit also drifted into the Steps reunion, Britney Spears and the looming Shepherd’s Bush Empire date, giving the final part of the show a properly theatrical, pop-obsessed finish.
