Olly Murs joins Scott after the Fun and Filth Cabaret
Scott and Chris began with an enthusiastic exchange about the television they watched when they could not sleep. Scott preferred glossy daytime-style reality shows and the Kardashians, while Chris championed the more chaotic late-night schedules of Viva, 4Music and MTV.
Their recommendations included Rock of Love, Balls of Steel Australia and Gavin Henson’s version of The Bachelor. Scott was fascinated by the fact that a former rugby star known through Charlotte Church was now being presented as television’s eligible romantic lead, while Chris insisted that the whole thing was essential viewing.
The Edinburgh week still felt unreal to the team. Scott described it as a blur of Avicii, Nigerian drag queens, David Hasselhoff, Edith Bowman and a coffin, then admitted that none of that was representative of his normal life of supermarket trips, washing-up and putting bins out.
Olly Murs arrived later in the programme, having been missed during the Edinburgh run. The friends caught up before putting him back into the feature he enjoyed most: Innuendo Bingo. The episode produced the slow-motion spit clip that the team were keen to share online.
The show finished with Scott encouraging listeners to revisit the Edinburgh cabaret videos. After all the strange guests and performances, the return to normal studio radio was welcome, but it was clear the team were not quite ready to stop talking about the festival.
