Beccy’s new hair wins approval as Edinburgh plans grow

Beccy arrived with a new hairstyle, and the show agreed that it looked great. What could have been a passing compliment became the day’s opening business, as Scott and Chris gave Beccy’s hair the kind of prolonged attention normally reserved for a major show development.

The search for a Frenchman continued, with listeners still being asked to help find the person Scott had decided the programme needed. The lack of a particularly clear explanation only made the feature more enjoyable: the team approached it as an important public mission while letting the absurdity of the request do most of the work.

The PR4L returned for another round of Dear Scott, reading out listener messages and dilemmas in the group’s familiar mock-authoritative style. The letters were a useful counterpoint to the wider festival planning, giving the show the smaller everyday stories that had become one of its regular fixtures.

Grimmy also joined the programme, fitting easily into the studio’s teasing atmosphere. His appearance gave Scott another person to bounce jokes off, while Beccy’s hair, the Frenchman search and the incoming Dear Scott material all became fair game for the group.

The day finished with further Edinburgh confirmations. Scott was clearly enjoying the slow reveal of the Fun and Filth Cabaret line-up, and each addition made the festival week look less like a standard outside broadcast and more like the chaotic late-night show the team wanted it to be.
