Peter Andre visits as Danny recalls a hen weekend with Pamela Anderson
Danny Howard opened the programme with the story of an unexpectedly extravagant hen weekend for former show colleague Laura. What had begun as a civilised dinner escalated after a booked party bus broke down and the group were sent a stretch Hummer instead. Danny left before the limousine stage, but was back with the group for their early flight to Corfu.
Laura did not know the destination until the airport, and Danny’s own work trip meant he was also on the flight. The major surprise was Pamela Anderson travelling on the same plane. Danny felt for her as groups of men on stag dos shouted her name, while the programme marvelled at the strange reality of Pamela Anderson boarding a budget flight to Corfu.
Back in the studio, Scott and Beccy played Just for the Pun of It. Scott called a garden centre and tried to force gardening words into a conversation about a missing bag and pork pie, while Beccy rang a toy shop with a story about lost marbles. Scott claimed a 7–5 win, though listeners argued that Beccy’s puns were more convincing and Scott had mostly just shouted isolated words.
Peter Andre then arrived to a particularly well-equipped group of fans outside Radio 1, who had brought chairs rather than standing for hours. Scott immediately resumed their familiar routine of remarking on Peter’s immaculate appearance and smell. Peter explained his past work on fragrance counters in Australia and laughed about the claim that one of his perfumes had once sold every 45 seconds.
Their conversation also covered Peter’s ITV2 show Here to Help, in which he and a team tried to solve viewers’ problems through practical acts of help. The interview had the warm, teasing tone the programme usually found with Peter: Scott praised the scale of his celebrity-fragrance success while refusing to let him get through a sentence without another imaginary cash-register sale.
