Chris gets a new challenge on Breakfast
Scott’s Breakfast cover coincided with Chris’s birthday, although Chris made a point of saying he did not want a fuss. The studio immediately ignored that request, beginning with Ferrero Rocher left outside his house.
Chris had spent the weekend in Prague for a DJ booking and reported a diet heavy on meat, dumplings and dark beer. His account of a large group drinking in a pub before midday gave Scott plenty to work with.
Beccy’s Busta Rhymes rap from the previous week was still a talking point, and Scott started looking for a new challenge capable of matching it. Chris’s early arrival gave the team another person to involve whether he liked it or not.
The programme also prepared for an unnamed surprise guest. Listeners were asked to send questions before anyone knew who would be walking into the studio, a format Scott considered entirely sensible.
It was a strong example of the Breakfast cover’s version of the show: ordinary personal anecdotes, an overconfident challenge and the promise of a guest used to create just enough chaos before the morning properly began.
