Mystic Bobbie meets Rob Beckett
Rob Beckett dropped into the studio and agreed to let Bobby Pryor investigate his first car.
Rob passed his test and bought the car at around 17 or 18, using money earned stacking yoghurt in a supermarket.
Bobby established that it was small, British and connected with Ford.
She correctly identified a Ford Fiesta Ghia.
Rob confirmed the answer and said the car had later been stolen.
Bobby then sensed water around the vehicle and wondered whether its sunroof had leaked, although Rob could not remember that detail.
Rob promoted his Sunday Radio 2 programme and joked that anybody who liked radio and music would probably enjoy it.
The Birthday Game: Jo
Jo from Haverfordwest turned 50.
She was a committed Wet Leg fan and had once attended a gig dressed as a lobster in the hope the band would notice her. They did not.
Her colleagues prepared a surprise buffet, while her evening involved cocktails and fancy food with friends. She was also seeing Jack Whitehall in Cardiff.
Jo preferred rock and metal.
Her first spin was John Newman’s Love Me Again, number one in 2013. She rejected it.
The second was the Fugees’ Killing Me Softly, the UK’s biggest-selling single of 1996. Jo gambled again.
Her compulsory final song was Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s Two Tribes, which spent nine weeks at number one in 1984.
Jo was delighted with the third result and received the birthday balloon.
Eurovision returns to Malmö
Scott celebrated confirmation that Malmö would host Eurovision in May 2024.
The Swedish city had also staged the contest in 2013, the year after Loreen’s first victory.
The Summer Wonder Years
The weather allowed Scott to open another Summer Wonder Years.
Listeners joined from farms, campsites and journeys towards the coast as the show moved through summer records from successive years.
