He revisited the strange ending in which hotel owner Angel woke up and discovered that the entire story had apparently been a dream.
The programme also followed news that Derek Thompson would leave Casualty after 37 years as Charlie Fairhead, having appeared in almost 900 episodes.

Jan from Devon enjoyed music from every era and genre.
Her first spin was Tammy Wynette’s Stand by Your Man. She liked country music but decided to continue.
The second was Fun featuring Janelle Monáe with We Are Young. Jan did not recognise it strongly enough to keep it.
Her compulsory third song was Eternal featuring BeBe Winans with I Wanna Be the Only One, number one in 1997.
Jan called it brilliant and was pleased that taking all three spins had worked.
Elton John
Elton John joined Scott during the final stages of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
He was preparing to headline Glastonbury for the first time, describing the performance as the perfect way to sign off in Britain.
Elton said the Glastonbury set would be significantly different from the touring show and would include special guests, although he refused to reveal any names.
Scott asked whether a helicopter would remove him immediately afterwards. Elton said he intended to stay backstage because many friends were travelling to see him.
Supporting Lewis Capaldi
Scott raised Lewis Capaldi’s account of Elton contacting him through Ed Sheeran.
Elton said self-doubt could be devastating for young performers and remembered inviting Lewis to lunch in Nice.
He later sent what he jokingly called a threatening email telling Lewis to believe in himself.
Elton said modern artists faced pressures his generation had avoided, particularly anonymous and abusive comments on social media.
He also defended performers forced to cancel shows because of vocal problems, describing cancellation as one of the worst experiences for an artist.
