Alison Hammond joins Bake Off
Scott celebrated confirmation that Alison Hammond would become the new co-host of The Great British Bake Off alongside Noel Fielding.
He said he had let out a small cheer when the rumours first appeared because the role could not have gone to a nicer person.
Scott had competed against Alison during Strictly Come Dancing and joked that he had never completely forgiven her for beating him in a dance-off.
He nevertheless described her as exactly the same warm and chaotic person off screen as she appeared on television.
Scott replayed a clip from Alison’s celebrity Bake Off appearance in which she lost track of the oven door.
Davina McCall’s Romance Retreat
Davina McCall confirmed that she would host a new relationship programme for middle-aged single parents.
Scott had previously discussed the project and had already collected potential applicants.
Ian from Halifax introduced himself as 55, “dead fit” and the owner of two beautiful cats.
Martin said he disliked people and long conversations but strongly supported sticky toffee pudding with custard.

Ian from the North Yorkshire coast turned 63.
He had moved from running to walking and had completed almost 6,000 miles through virtual walking challenges since lockdown.
Ian shared his birthday with Patrick Duffy, Hozier, Rob Lowe and Rob Kardashian.
His first spin was The Walker Brothers’ The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore. He rejected it as too old.
The second was Harry Nilsson’s Without You. Ian recognised it as a great song but felt it was too slow.
His compulsory third spin was the Nessa and Bryn version of Islands in the Stream from Gavin & Stacey.
Ian initially assumed he was hearing Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, then noticed the vocals sounded unusual.
He was happy with the novelty result.
Listeners said the record made them smile and improved kitchen cleaning, while one admitted not knowing it had been released as a real number-one single.

Scott continued promoting the draw for two Eurovision grand-final tickets in aid of Comic Relief.
He explained how a £10 donation could support families, children with disabilities or refugees navigating housing and employment services.

Scott discussed a video in which Gwyneth Paltrow described fasting, eating bone broth and consuming vegetables as part of her wellness routine.
A listener pointed out that Scott had omitted the moment Gwyneth appeared to inhale one of her own scented candles.

Scott accepted artists with an Irish connection, even where only one group member qualified.
