Ray turns 100
Ray joined Scott on his 100th birthday.
Scott described the call as a privilege and asked Ray about the changes he had witnessed across a century.
Ray’s family helped arrange the appearance and listened as he became the oldest contestant to play the Birthday Game.

Ray was offered three number ones from 14 December across different years.
One choice prompted Scott to ask about Ray’s “beef with Elvis”, a phrase that amused listeners because of the difference in age and tone.
Ray eventually landed on Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You.
The record had finally reached number one in 2020, 26 years after its original release.
Ray said he had never heard it, but agreed to let Scott play it as his birthday song.
His son later told the programme that the family had been surprised by how much Ray enjoyed taking part.

Messages called Ray a legend and said his appearance had made Christmas feel as though it had properly begun.
Scott sent him a birthday balloon despite acknowledging that the prize was modest for such a milestone.
