Totally Teavoted
Sara adapted her Totally Devoted feature into Totally Teavoted, asking listeners to explain the tea, breakfast or morning ritual to which they were completely committed.
Messages covered exact brewing times, favourite mugs, forbidden substitutions and the strong feelings created when somebody else made tea incorrectly.
The feature worked because the habits were ordinary but described with the seriousness of lifelong loyalties.
Jo Whiley and Oasis
Jo Whiley joined Sara to preview the return of Oasis and Radio 2’s coverage around the reunion shows.
She discussed the anticipation created by Liam and Noel Gallagher appearing on the same stage again and the difficulty of judging the event before the first performance had happened.
The conversation covered the songs fans expected, the possibility of surprises and the generation of listeners who had never previously seen the band.
Jo reflected on covering Oasis during their original rise and how quickly the group moved from clubs and theatres to becoming one of Britain’s biggest bands.
Sara and Jo also considered whether the reunion could ever satisfy the years of expectation surrounding it.
