Scott Mills reveals secret EastEnders cameo

Scott Mills has revealed he made a surprise, unannounced appearance in EastEnders – and many viewers completely missed it.

The BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show host popped up as himself during the soap’s recent flash-forward episode, which jumped 12 months into the future and was set on New Year’s Day 2027.

The episode followed Max Branning as he prepared for his fifth wedding day, teasing a mystery bride alongside a string of dramatic twists. But amid the drama, fans were treated to a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo from Mills.

In the scene, Scott appeared presenting the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, revealing that Oscar Branning had sent in a message to mark Max’s big day. Addressing listeners, Mills said:

“How is 2027 going for you?

Time for some messages – Max Branning, good luck on your wedding day.

Wow – it says here, fifth time lucky.

That is from Oscar, hotter than ever in 2027.

I am guessing you wrote that yourself, Oscar! And that one is also from Lauren too!”

The cameo tied neatly into the show’s future-set storyline, grounding the flash-forward in familiar BBC territory and adding a playful, unexpected moment for sharp-eyed viewers.

Sharing the secret afterwards on Instagram, Mills joked about keeping the appearance under wraps, writing: “I’ve been keeping more secrets than Santa this Christmas LOL.”

While Scott is no stranger to television, the low-key cameo was a fun crossover moment between Radio 2 and one of the BBC’s biggest dramas — and a reminder that even in Walford’s future, the show is still going strong.
