Scott Mills shocks viewers as he’s unmasked on The Masked Singer Christmas special

Scott Mills stunned viewers during The Masked Singer Christmas Special as he was dramatically unmasked as Figgy Pudding – finishing as runner-up in the festive showdown.

The Radio 2 star made it all the way to the final of the 90-minute ITV special, impressing the judges with his vocals before narrowly missing out on the win.

Maya Jama was the only panellist to correctly guess Scott’s identity, saying confidently: “I recognise that voice.”

After the reveal, Davina McCall was left fuming that Scott had managed to keep his secret hidden from her.

“I saw you two weeks ago and you knew you were doing this then!” she shouted across the stage. “I’ll never trust you again!”

Scott had performed When A Child Is Born, with Jonathan Ross praising him and declaring: “He’s got a good voice!”

Clues scattered throughout his VT included a pie chart, references to being a “gourmet globetrotter,” and repeated nods to being “early” and linked to “breakfast” – all subtle hints at his broadcasting career.

Despite Scott’s strong showing, the crown ultimately went to Mistletoe, who was revealed as TV favourite Dermot O’Leary.

Judges Maya Jama, Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall had all correctly guessed Dermot, though Mo Gilligan threw in a wildcard guess of Big Narstie.

Speaking after his win, Dermot admitted: “It felt good. But I think everyone knew it was me by that point.”

He also revealed the biggest challenge of the show was performing inside the costume.

“I had no vision at all. It’s quite claustrophobic and tight in the costume,” he said.

Earlier in the night, Goose A-Laying was unmasked as Coronation Street legend Maureen Lipman, while Santa’s Sack was revealed to be Baroness Floella Benjamin.

The festive special featured four brand-new characters – Mistletoe, Figgy Pudding, Goose A-Laying and Santa’s Sack – alongside surprise appearances from panto legends including Su Pollard, Lesley Joseph, Basil Brush and Christopher Biggins, who helped throw extra clues at the panel.

But it was Scott Mills’ secret turn as Figgy Pudding that proved one of the night’s biggest shocks – even to his closest friends.
