22 May 2025: Boyzlife, Dad Jokes and Eurovision withdrawal

Eurovision withdrawal

Scott admitted he had not fully recovered from the reports that Céline Dion might appear at Eurovision.

Listeners continued sending fake sightings and jet updates, while Scott called for an inquiry into how the rumour had become so convincing.

Boyzlife

Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden joined Scott as Boyzlife, combining the catalogues and stories of Boyzone and Westlife.

They discussed the origins of the project and why songs from both groups worked naturally inside the same live show.

The conversation covered the scale of 1990s and 2000s boy-band fame, including travel, television appearances and the lack of privacy that came with success.

Keith and Brian reflected on friendships, group dynamics and the different ways Boyzone and Westlife were managed.

Scott asked which songs they still enjoyed performing and which choreography or clothing they would prefer never to revisit.

The pair also discussed how audiences had changed, with people who first saw them as teenagers now bringing children to the concerts.

Dad Jokes

Boyzlife took on a round of Dad Jokes, attempting to deliver and survive deliberately weak punchlines without laughing.

The feature suited both guests’ willingness to tease one another and compete over who could make the worse joke sound convincing.

Regular features

The Easiest Quiz and Birthday Game continued before Friday’s pairing of Jessie J and Lesley Joseph.
