18 September 2024: Game Changers, Golden Girls wisdom and the wolf at the moon

Advice for everyday life

Scott asked listeners to share the short quotations and pieces of advice they used to guide their lives.

The contributions ranged from sincere reminders about treating people well to phrases remembered from television.

One listener offered the Golden Girls-inspired advice that taking a chance could lead to something good or bad, but refusing to take a chance guaranteed that nothing would happen.

Others suggested saying what you mean, meaning what you say and treating people as you would want to be treated.

Inspirational wolf posters

Scott imagined placing the quotes in WordArt over a picture of a wolf howling at the moon.

The deliberately overdramatic visual treatment turned even sensible advice into the kind of motivational image shared online.

“Live, laugh, love” also made an inevitable appearance.

A Game Changer update

Scott returned to one of the practical hacks featured the previous morning.

The update tested whether the idea had continued working once it left the excitement of live radio and entered normal daily life.

Breakfast messages

Listeners checked in from early shifts, dog walks, removals work and birthday celebrations.

The programme continued Scott’s temporary breakfast routine of hearing from people whose working day had already begun before much of the country was awake.

Handover

Scott handed over to Vernon Kay after the morning’s advice and Game Changer follow-up.
