Gladiators returns
Scott joined the national excitement around the return of Gladiators.
Around six million people had watched the opening episode, with a new generation of contenders facing familiar events including the Eliminator.
Scott enjoyed the fact that parents who remembered the original series could watch the revival with teenagers who unexpectedly loved it too.
The new line-up included Apollo, who could jump 2.8 metres from standing, and Athena, who could lift 175kg.

Scott also discussed Shirley Ballas being revealed as Rat on The Masked Singer.
One clue involved a tattoo gun, leading Olly Murs to ask Shirley about her tattoos.
She revealed that she had several across her backside, including her boyfriend’s name.

Donna from Scunthorpe turned 56.
She had an intense aversion to hearing other people brush their teeth.
The sound made her skin crawl, and she muted toothpaste adverts rather than listen to them.
Donna shared her birthday with Martin Luther King Jr, Claudia Winkleman, Edith Bowman, Pitbull and Chloe Kelly.
Her first spin was Gayle’s ABCDEFU, number one in 2022 after becoming a viral TikTok hit.
Donna rejected it.
The second was the Beatles’ I Want to Hold Your Hand, the record that made chart history when the group replaced themselves at number one.
Donna rejected that too.
Her compulsory third song was Fatboy Slim’s Praise You, number one in 1999.
She accepted the final result and received the birthday balloon.

Scott opened a new case from Rob.
Rob remembered an early-2000s dance track that had appeared on the sort of compilation albums associated with Ministry of Sound.
The clue was short and attracted many competing suggestions, worrying Scott that it might become a difficult case.
The Traitors
Scott complained about the gap between Friday and Wednesday episodes of The Traitors and argued that another instalment was needed on Sunday.
He also believed the Faithful needed better strategy and stronger spelling during round-table votes.

Scott handed over to Sara Cox after previewing Teddy Swims the following afternoon.
