Greg James returns to the wet area
Greg James appears in a grey suit that instantly reveals every drop of water. His latest Innuendo Bingo includes Lewis Hamilton’s mother getting a little bit down her, a spy watching Dak Prescott come and pull out, Richard Madeley’s late-afternoon nosh and a Grand Designs stream delivering pleasure downstairs.
The closing National Lottery clip repeatedly confirms that the answer is “head”, preserving Greg’s position as the king of the game. Chris’s improvised outfit combines pig legs, a lounge suit and a promotional loincloth, making the visual evidence almost as strong as the clips.
Pete celebrates 25 years
A Radio 1 documentary marks Pete Tong’s first 25 years at the station, including his first programme, Essential Mix and Ibiza broadcast. Scott and Chris celebrate with another round of the Pete Tong Game, asking whether the dance acts introduced in Pete’s unmistakable voice are genuine.
Jack and Jerk really exist, despite sounding invented. Boss Frank, “Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones but Words Will Never Hurt Me” and Roland Pump are fabrications assembled from Pete’s words, although he says every one with enough conviction to make the answer difficult. An old recording of Pete reading Radio 1’s enormous 1995 web address completes the anniversary.
Robot Wars needs a better name
Scott and Chris confirm that they will operate a machine on Robot Wars, but their preparation has happened too late for substantial design changes. “Rampant Robot” is rejected as unsuitable for a BBC One family audience, “The Hooded Claw” receives little enthusiasm and a request to reshape the machine into a giant bell is impossible.
The current robot merely has a painted fist that no longer matches anything. Listeners offer names including Bish Bash Bosh and The Governess while the team asks whether even the fist can still be removed. Charlie Sloth later plays Real or No Real and reveals that he bought a professional polygraph machine to test friends including Lethal Bizzle.
