Grimmy challenges Greg James over his final Scottish sleepover
Grimmy revisited listener Holly’s sleep-talking recordings from earlier in the week and unveiled a dance remix built around her cries of confusion and “Dog!”. He imagined Annie Mac, Gary Lucy and Selena Gomez playing it, although he admitted that he had still failed to record his own sleep because several glasses of wine had made him forget to start the app.
Greg James called after completing the final night of his Scottish sleepover tour. His hosts had welcomed him in fancy dress and staged a miniature T in the Park party with a barbecue outside. Grimmy confronted him with the hosts’ supposed account of the night, including claims that Greg rejected their water in favour of his own filter, went to bed early, called the council to close the party and threw a bucket of water over fans outside.
Greg denied the accusations and insisted that the night had been enjoyable, although he accepted that his hosts had become tired of his constant references to T in the Park. He was travelling towards the festival with Annie Mac and expected to appear on television later. After spending the week talking to somebody before bed every night, he joked that he would need to call Grimmy once he returned to his own flat.
Grimmy’s parents had arrived in London and immediately begun cleaning and reorganising his new house. They pulled up plants he had mistaken for flowers, objected to his lack of gardening gloves, inspected drawers and cleaned the inside of his vacuum cleaner. Grimmy and a friend sat eating Jaffa Cakes while his parents carried out what became a 40-hour cleaning marathon.
The team also revisited B.o.B’s strained Live Lounge cover of Coldplay’s “Paradise” and wondered how Fearne Cotton had found something polite to say afterwards. Beccy and Chris Smith played an Oh, What’s Occurring? quiz about celebrity fragrances, identifying scents connected with Cliff Richard, Peter Andre, Jordin Sparks, Diddy, Bruce Willis and Donald Trump before Grimmy handed the afternoon back.
