That denial only made the idea funnier. Scott enjoyed imagining that he might be ringing up the Daily Star with celebrity sightings, even while insisting he had not done so. The exchange captured the show’s habit of taking a flimsy tabloid item and turning it into a miniature conspiracy theory at Scott’s expense.
