9 July 2008: The Hoff’s “Baditude” Single and Beccy’s Amazing Classifieds

David Hasselhoff agrees to release a charity single version of his Michael Jackson “Bad” cover attempt, but only if harmonica player Tammy and a more appropriate charity are involved — and Scott discovers he’s won a major poll among tradesmen.

The Hoff returns to the show with news about “Baditude,” the Michael Jackson “Bad” cover the team created yesterday. Initially reluctant because he thought it was “too camp,” he’s had a change of heart and will release it for charity — but not Children in Need, as the lyric “my hand goes down my pants” (meaning trousers) isn’t quite appropriate for that organisation. The team are exploring alternative charities and the Hoff has insisted that Tammy, a harmonica-playing superfan from his website who leaves constant answering machine messages, must feature on the track. There’s a video available online showing the Hoff dancing to the mix.

Westwood strikes comedy gold when the Cheeky Girls call him live in a segment of “Oh! What’s Occurring?” — they invite him to dinner and mention they’re single, creating awkward moments as he tries to politely extract himself. The segment runs to one minute 44 seconds, longer than Beccy’s prediction.

Scott has won third place in a major poll of 10,000 builders, carpenters, plumbers and tradesmen voting for the biggest celebrity “tool” — behind Peter André and Chris Eubank. He’s ranked above Paul Burrell and Paul Danan.

Beccy’s classifieds this week include a job lot of unused accessories (purse, lip butter, “grow a boyfriend” novelty gift, Barbie chocolates) for £7; a large puffer jacket wanted by someone in Swindon; a suspicious “university study” asking women to email their bra size and age; free Quality Street chocolates (best flavours gone); novelty men’s three-legged tights for £3.99; a 1947 Bionic Woman Barbie with a broken foot for 50p; a signed bra by Gaza with certificate; and a coffin from South Africa, never used, for £500 with slight staining “that should wash out.”
