Mark Goodier is presenting the breakfast show next week, with OJ Borg on the afternoon show and Phil Williams on overnights all week.
Seems Spoony has had brain surgery over Christmas. Hope he is ok. Nice to see OJ has some weekday cover slots as well. Wonder if Mark will be the go to cover now with Scott? Gary in for Vernon as well.

Grimmy in for Rylan on Saturday 4th January
Week Commencing 6th January
Gary Davies is still in for Vernon
Edith Bowman in for Jo Whiley
Spoony is 'in' for Trevor Nelson. I'm not sure whether that means he's finished on Rhythm Nation by this point, but I'm surprised Spoony is covering what is effectively his own slot so close to him taking over with The Good Groove. It also means someone else will be covering the afternoon show... Hopefully OJ Borg.
Maybe they havent adjusted the schedule pages yet but that could be the first week of the new shows, Breakfast and Afternoons are not labelled

I see Gaby is covering breakfast so I assume she is covering the following week as well and Scott starts on like the 6th or something? do you remember when Zoe started it was like the 2nd or 3rd of Jan 2019 wasn't it?
Take that back was 14th January so maybe there will be 2/3 weeks of Gaby covering

Steffan Powell (former Radio 1 Newsbeat presenter/newsreader) is sitting in for Owain Wynn Evans on New Year's Day/2nd/3rd January.
A few other schedule changes going into December:
Shaun Keaveny in for Liza Tarbuck tonight (30th November)
Tina Daheley in for Jeremy Vine on Tuesday 3rd December
Jason Mohammed in for Owain on Friday 6th December.
Romesh off again next week (7th) so Emma Willis sits in
Nick Grimshaw in for Rylan on Saturday 14th, 21st and 28th (I assume he's in the following Saturday as well with Rylan still in Panto).

I think its posted on DS that OJ wanted away from overnights so he is the looser in this i see, unless they are waiting for Coxy to leave then he could take drive

Does he have a radio show too? It feels like all of the celebrities have some sort of audio connection this year!
I believe his husband is on the Prod Squad for Zoes show

I wonder if our Gregory and our Mills will be popping out for a coffee together over the next few weeks?
I bet they have seen each other in the kitchen when songs are playing
Althogh Greg is on until 11 at the moment and Scott is on until 0930 so he will be home before Greg finishes
Interesting they have only now let him cover, I can only imagine that this is trying Scott out as permenent cover or Gabby Roslin and Gary Davies are not about
Maybe they will now use Scott (hoping so) going forward for breakfast cover ala R1 and someone else like Gary or OJ or Spoony covers 2-4 all the time, which would make sense going back to the Evans era for the first time when Sara was the permenent cover
Something tells me that Sara will get breakfast next because she hasn't covered in Zoe's time at all

Heard a bit of Connor in the car just now sounding good but does he have to costantly remind us he is in for Charlie? we KNOW it is her show

Was Danny live tonight on Dance?

I've just listened to thr 1st hour of the show and seems to be more music and less chat but as he doesn't have features yet it makes sense.
Hopefully he will do well as he's a good presenter but needs time to work out the correct games and features for that time of day
Surely he could have just carried on beat or repeat? unles Arielle is taking that to R1D. What he should do is a feature that gets the brekfast presenter involved about 0640, something like bangers and play the track at 650.

Yeah it was a bit messy in the old days - you would have at least 6 weeks of Scott and chris covering for Moyles/Grimmy in the year, as well as odd days, so many times specially during the Grimmy era they were called last minute to swap into Breakfast
Then theywould both have about 6-7 weeks of a year as well, and many times not together so if Chris was off Scott would do the show solo and if Scott was off Chris would work with Matt, Alice, Jordan etc
Many times Scott would start his own leave after two weeks on Breakfast as well so you would get 4-5 weeks of no Scott on drive or lunchtime
I worked out just on the standard leave quota Scott was not on his own slot for three months a year plus any ad hoc days Grimmy used to call in sick, take a short notice day off etc (the one i remember vividly was the one where Grim was injured in the football match on the Sunday)

I wonder if those Charlie Hedges dance anthems will be repeats of the ones on Saturdays or new programmes. She’s posted on Instagram so I wonder if they’ll be new editions.
Suspect it will be new editions but not live and interactive
Just a loads of blocks of classic anthems with Charlie recording links at 15 min intervals maybe which is a 5 min job after her weekday show - or a couple hours on a Friday maybe when they are not working
I expect Arielle to be live 9-12 weekdays but Dannys DP Warm up suspect will be a recorded show

The two larger studios either side of the Live Lounge are 82A (aka 82Mills) and 82D. The 4 smaller ones nearby are 82B, C, E & F. The brand new ones are nearby on the 8th floor and are 82K, L, M & N. All of the London-based R2 and 6M shows are coming from the 8th floor, some in the new studios and some in the original ones. Obviously there are a lot of shows that come from elsewhere in the country such as Birmingham, Salford and Cardiff, but any in London come from the 8th floor.
In terms of R1 at the moment:
82A - Greg James, Danny Howard, Jeremiah Asiamah
82B - Early Breakfast Mon-Fri, Dan P Carter, Sarah Story, Charlie Tee
82D - RMC, Going Home, Future Artists, Future Pop, Rave Up, 13.00-16.00 Fri-Sun
82E - Official Chart, Chillest Show
82F - Dance Anthems, Kenny Allstar, Indie Show
82N - New Music Show
Salford - Dean & Vicky, Danny Beard, Nat O'Leary, Life Hacks
Cardiff - Sam & Danni
Obvs - Scott 2-4 and Trevor Nelson are also in 82A

Yesterday was excellent pretty much all day. You can tell a lot of work has gone into the festival and the set up was really good.
The ground is fine for anyone worried, I wore old trainers and they’re still fine today.
Merchandise is available for some high prices. If you’re going for Longboi merch get it early as they sold out within the first couple of hours.
The photo booth is also good and we met Vick, Katie and Jamie for a few seconds and got a photo. If you’re doing this get there 15-20 minutes before the advertised time as they’re only 30 minute slots. It’s right next to the main stage so you can see everything going on there from the queue anyway.
Most of the acts we saw were excellent. Becky Hill and Ella Henderson were brilliant live. Rudimental and Chase and Status were absolutely incredible. Nathan Dawe wasn’t great, played 3 of his own songs then dodgy remixes of Marvin Gaye, Dolly Parton etc. Went to Dimension halfway through which was must better. Saw 15-20 minutes of Eric Prydz which wasn’t really my thing but his staging was excellent.
The DJ sets in between everything were pretty good, especially Matt and Mollie and Charlie Hedges. Sam and Danni were a welcome change as they played indie anthems for a while although I think they may have just been the pre recorded anthems they usually play on weekends (still better than Nathan Dawe).Food was good, but pricey - £15 for my main meal of roast pork, stuffing, chips and Yorkshire pudding. I was surprised they were selling multipacks of Madri and bottles of wine, especially the latter as people were walking around swigging from glass bottles in the middle of the crowd then dumping them on the floor… the rubbish was a mess at the end of the night.
Probably one of the best live music events I’ve ever been to, a real credit to the station.
Who presented Party Anthems on stage?

The BBC commissioning brief mentions it is a 'mid morning show' for Radio 1 Dance

Maybe that will be Arielle then and go up against Cap Dances 11am mix

I think being the radio geek Greg is he will want to beat Moyles record

I guess we'll have to wait and see when the new schedule kicks in, although I could see Scott staying where he is. Assuming that's the case and there are no other moves, there would be several available studios for Matt & Mollie - 82C or 82E of the 'old' studios, and 82M or 82N of the new ones.
It must be really weird for the likes of Vick and RMC to see Scott in 82A it must be like he never left for them

Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots.
A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1.
Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I
Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes
The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us
Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ?
Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter

I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help
Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days
The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio
They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm
In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack
I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?

What will be Scott's first song on breakfast?
in The Scott Mills Show

Sounds like sort of we are going back to Moyles style themes - I hope so and that his show has a big intro, like Gregs does and that Moyles used to have and Chris Evans had on R2
