Level 2 - Alert Issued at: Saturday 22 July 2006 at 09:47 The probability of heatwave conditions in parts of England and Wales between 1100 on Saturday and 1100 on Thursday is 80% Although another hot and humid day is expected across some eastern parts of England today, Level 3 Alert temperature thresholds are not expected to be met. Somewhat cooler conditions during Sunday and Monday will then be replaced by rising temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday as a new heatwave develops. Although confidence levels for the new heatwave are high enough to make this a Level 2 Alert, it is not yet clear how extensive the heatwave will be across England and Wales, or how long it might last.
