  1. hello scott mills geeks!

    i am a new listener from hong kong who wants to improve their english by listening to the show. but one thing i would like some help with is chapper's vocabulary.

    on last week's show he called scott a "soft lad" and occasionally mentions the "nescafe sign". what does he mean by this? is he paid to promote coffee and is it common for the english to say this?

    i have asked my english teacher what they mean but she does not understand and she too is curious to know the answer.

    could somebody please advise?

    Hey and welcome.

    1st, Chappers is from up north (North England) So they have different sayings, probably the same for different parts of china like it is for different parts of the UK.

    2nd, He will refer to things from TV and adverts that you won't know simply because you haven't seen them.
