This is my sortof Home Office. Bedroom is elsewhere in the house and my main office is 40 mins drive away but it'll do for now. for now. That is a very old pic as well - at least a year old. Olly, consumer stuff like netgear, dlink etc... is good enough for its purpose - providing a basic internet connection to small businesses and homes. There is no need for it to be amazing. A home router has one primary function, and *most* of the consumer products acheive this. I agree that, yes it has its faults, but when it costs under £100 (some even under £50) what do you really expect. Then again, at home, what do you really need that makes your connection uptime so important.

No it doesn't! It sits on top of your computer's case - if it was on the CPU it would be actually inside your computer getting rather toasty. Your computer probably wouldn't last that long either. I just hate it when people get these technical things wrong But Olly - can you really see cisco enterprise stuff in your average persons home? Until the world becomes rich and clever - netgear will just have to do
