Live Lounge Month got off to a lively start as Blossoms and Declan McKenna joined Charlie and Jerry to launch this year's run. The band played their new single Additional Driver from the aptly named album Songs from a Wedding Cake, before covering Ash's Stop the Wedding in tribute to the album's theme — Charlie and Jerry even dressed as wedding guests for the occasion. Declan was gently ribbed for turning up in normal clothes rather than the bathrobe he famously wore on a previous visit to Jack Saunders' show, joking "I'm a professional" when pressed.
The chat turned playful when talk moved to a Blossoms-Declan McKenna group chat, with Tom revealing Declan's last message asking what everyone was wearing had been left on read. "No one else responded to it," Declan laughed, good-naturedly calling them out. Elsewhere, Tom teased a possible new band direction after moving to a farm, suggesting a side project called "Tom and the Chicken Sisters" — an idea Joe seemed less sold on.
There was also a sweet moment when Joe revealed Charlie and Jerry had used a recording of their voices to help calm the band's nerves before the performance, which the group said genuinely helped. Listeners flooded in praise for the live sound, with one calling it "unreal" and another insisting Blossoms "never miss a cover." The show also teased a big name joining Live Lounge Month on 14 October, promising more to come as the month continues.
