Hello and welcome to the review of Thursdays show with me Quincy. Deal with it. The show started with Hard Fi Living for the weekend, which to be honest im a bit bored of as I have it on my mp3 player and listened to it all the time for about a month solid so not a great start, but hey, that’s just me right? This was the first show I had listened to since Scott had disappeared to the early hours and as im a lazy young man who doesn’t start work until 10am there is no way im getting up at that horrendous hour. NO! I can’t be bothered to listen again. Anyway…
As per usual Scott’s first words were "Alrite Treacle?" is this a question or a statement? Does he expect us to answer him? Surely not that would be stupid. He really should get a new phrase though it’s a bit repetitive. I suggest "Afternoon Sugar" Perfect. Then he played that boring Mylo vs. Miami sound machine Dr Pressure. Yawn. If your gonna do a remix of a song why bother doing a song that is so over played its untrue. Scott starts talking about his visit to Southampton and says that the guest is not Gloria Estefan but it is in fact Will Young. Couldn’t they have got a better guest? Scott also said that he was scared to go home so if anyone wanted him to stay at theirs he could. Then he played some clips of Brucie. Don’t ask me why. Oh and then he proved how awful the radio 1 playlist is by playing that black eyed peas song that goes on about her lady lumps. UTTER DRIVEL.
At this point I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of Mr Mark Chapman for some comedy moments. Then I get very angry with the playlist (even more angry) as the next songs are Fix You by Coldplay and some rubbish 50 Cent crap.
Rate My Listener
Today’s rate my listener was Dee who is 19. She has been single for about 5 months. In a man she looks for a nice body. Oh and she can cook. Her ideal man would be the gardener from desperate housewives and if she went lesbian it would be with Jennifer Aniston. Scott almost guessed the size of her lady lumps. But he was wrong so he didn’t. If you see what I mean. OH MY GOD what is wrong with music today? Robbie Williams is rubbish. This makes me want to listen to radio 2. Am I that old? At least by this time Mr Chappers has appeared.
Scotts Mouse
Scott didn’t want to stay at his house last night due to a mouse invading his house. So he asked for some tips to get rid of the mouse. The best suggestion was to get a barn owl. Chappers made a funny comment that he could get rid of the mice but then contract bird flu. Hilarious, keep it up Chappers. Oh and at least the songs improved after the news with Kanye West and Gold digger.
Yvette Fielding
The host of most haunted Yvette Fielding rang Scott to see what Chris Moyles was like as she was scared. Chappers said that they edit the show to make the people look scared. Obviously Chappers wasn’t scared. Yvette then wants to arrange a dinner date with Scott. Yvette also liked Laura’s (made up) diary. They then talk about when Yvette was on blue peter and Scott reveals that George the tortoise has died. Yvette revealed that George died ages ago and Scott is talking rubbish. Chappers then got the wrong end of the stick and thought that they had a garden party to bury the dead dogs of Blue Peter. By this time I am happy to report that the music has improved somewhat. Probably just in time for Your Call people to select some rubbish.
Your Call
Today on your call some of the tracks selected were; Uniting Nations – Out of Touch, Bloc Party – two more years (excellent) Chris (who capsized charlotte churches canoe) selected Call My Name by the welsh chav. Other songs requested were: Norey – Allstar, Magic Numbers – (don’t know the name of the song they all sound the same i.e. poor), Will Young (again don’t know the name of the song and I have no intention of finding out he’s rubbish and should just go away) and that new Darkness song about cocaine. The most selected song today on your call was Sugababies and Push the Button. Hmmmm Heidi, damn you man from TRL.
Indian Takeaway Game
Quite a poor feature I think. Today was the first time ive listened to it so I thought I would give it a go. Basically they pick a number from the menu and the caller has to guess what meal it is. If they get it right they win the meal. Im sorry but after being away for 3 weeks they should come up with better features than this. Then basically loads of people rang up with the wrong answer. I was waiting for it to get funny or even mildly entertaining. It wasn’t. Some bloke got it right; it was a mixed combo starter. Whatever that is. Then to compound my agony, Scott went and played Jamiroquai. WHAT WAS HE THINKING?!
Scott ended the show with Estelle (again rubbish) and then at least one good song in Maximo Park – Apply some pressure. I must say after not listening to the show for over 3 weeks I was bitterly disappointed. I don’t think I laughed once. Sorry.
