Pete Wentz called from Los Angeles
Pete Wentz joined the programme from LA as Fall Out Boy prepared to release “Hold Me Tight or Don’t”.
Scott used the opportunity to revive unfinished business from years earlier.
In 2011 Pete had apparently promised that if he reached three million Twitter followers he would livestream himself in the bath.
By 2017 he had roughly doubled that following and the bath had still not happened.
Pete admitted the promise remained outstanding and joked about whether the stakes now needed to be raised further.
Listeners nominated the most overrated things
Scott and Chris invited people to identify things everyone else seemed to love but which they personally considered overrated.
The nominations covered television, food, music and drink, with suggestions including Harry Potter, Nando’s, Beyoncé and champagne.
The point was not to settle whether any of them were genuinely overrated, but to give listeners permission to admit they did not necessarily understand the enthusiasm.
Barbara Windsor returned to the Google Game
Barbara Windsor provided another round of the Google Game, helping Scott and Chris work through the internet’s most commonly searched questions.
Bangers was also finely balanced. Scott’s choice of Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” defeated Chris’s Mika selection, keeping the week competitive ahead of Friday.
