Chris had become a superstar DJ before leaving London
Chris’s forthcoming Ibiza set had started to take over the programme. He arrived with his laptop open, working on music for Hï Ibiza’s Wild Corner, and Scott immediately decided he was behaving like a superstar DJ. The new nickname was “Eric”, after Eric Prydz, who would be playing elsewhere in the club that weekend.
Chris argued that the fact his booth was in the toilet area did not make the set less important. Anyone spending the night in the main room would eventually need the toilets, giving him a guaranteed flow of potential listeners. He wanted to treat it as a proper club set rather than a novelty and was already worrying about whether his music would stand up alongside Radio 1’s established dance DJs.
Danny Howard joined the preparation and encouraged him to go for it. Chris also had two Radio 1 Summer Mix slots coming up on Thursday, giving him a chance to practise before travelling to Ibiza.
Innuendo Bingo gave Danny another soaking
Danny Howard took the guest seat for Innuendo Bingo while Chris continued his pre-Ibiza transformation. The game produced another particularly wet edition as clips from television and radio were played with the usual accidental double meanings.
The Ibiza discussion continued around the game, with Scott joking about Chris needing the standard black DJ T-shirt and treating the Wild Corner booking as though it were a headline residency.
Love Island contestants were projected to earn fortunes
The show also looked at reports estimating how much the latest Love Island contestants might earn once the series was over. The programme stressed that the contestants themselves had not earned huge amounts simply for appearing, but newspaper projections suggested that personal appearances, advertising and social-media work could quickly become very lucrative.
Scott and Chris ran through some of the more eye-catching estimates, including six- and seven-figure projections for several Islanders. The figures seemed particularly extraordinary when compared with the relatively modest payment for actually being in the villa.
A Google Game later became unexpectedly revealing when autocomplete questions led Scott and Chris into admissions about things they had privately wondered about, including whether they were any good at kissing.
