Saturday Kitchen caused a genuine grievance
Chris arrived with a complaint. He had overheard in the office that Scott was due to appear on Saturday Kitchen that weekend, despite the programme being one of Chris’s absolute favourites and the pair having long joked that they should go on together. Scott insisted he had simply forgotten to mention it and pointed out that Chris would be away filming anyway, but Chris was unconvinced.
“Muggy Mills” and “snake” quickly became the descriptions of the day, with listeners encouraged to send snake emojis. The situation got worse because the forbidden competition word was “weekend”, a word Scott repeatedly said while trying to explain when Saturday Kitchen was happening. Each accidental use triggered another festival-ticket giveaway.
Saturday Kitchen’s boss was called in
Scott eventually rang Saturday Kitchen executive producer Amanda Ross to settle the argument. She explained that the programme had wanted Scott for some time and that somebody had in fact asked whether Chris might come along too. That did little to help Scott’s defence, as Chris took it as evidence that his exclusion could have been avoided.
The show was due to be a live outdoor barbecue special, making Chris even more envious. Scott maintained that there had been no deliberate secrecy, while Chris continued to encourage the snake campaign.
Calum Scott and Matrix got soaked
Matrix from Matrix & Futurebound and Calum Scott joined Innuendo Bingo while promoting their collaboration “Light Us Up”. Calum already knew what he was letting himself in for, having previously experienced the game, while Matrix received his introduction to the wet seat.
The clips included an unfortunate discussion of an “erection manifesto”, Winter Olympics commentary about “sucking him home” and Jamie Oliver enthusiastically rubbing and massaging a bird. Scott’s repeated use of the competition keyword meant Real or No Real had to be dropped to make room for all the ticket giveaways.
