Scott refuses to leave the house with a broken veneer
The front of one of Scott’s veneers has fallen away, leaving what appears to be a missing tooth. He has avoided social events because smiling makes it look as though he has been punched, although the underlying tooth is still present and a repair is booked.
The temporary gap explains the subject nobody in the studio has wanted to mention. Chris had assumed it was a Christmas injury, while Scott is mainly relieved that radio allows him to work without showing it to the audience.
Halifax remains plan C
Scott is DJing in Halifax on New Year’s Eve and asks Chris to come because none of his own friends are available. A local newspaper has presented the situation as an appeal for company, making a busy booking sound like a charity effort for a lonely DJ.
Chris may attend, but only if a plan with his best friend fails and an evening with his girlfriend’s parents also proves unsuitable. Scott objects to being third choice, while listeners in Halifax offer themselves as sidekicks in exchange for entry and free drinks.
Rockabye may remain number one forever
Clean Bandit’s “Rockabye” continues at number one for so long that Scott imagines the chart has stopped. He still wants a version without Sean Paul, while accepting that the record deserves several weeks rather than permanent control of the top spot.
Chris delivers breaking football news that Carlos Tevez will reportedly earn £615,000 a week in China, provoking the question of why the additional £15,000 is necessary. The final Real or No Real of 2016 examines international New Year traditions, and Bangers closes the week before the show returns for another run of Breakfast cover in January.
