Strictly drops out and the Queen returns
The planned Strictly Come Bingo had fallen through, so Scott called an old specialist. Rhianna Dhillon had played so frequently in the feature’s earlier years that she was known as the Queen of Bingo and understood the game better than most guests.
She arrived in shorts despite the end of October and immediately matched Chris Stark’s energy. Scott expected a strong edition before either player entered the Live Lounge, and Rhianna’s inability to look at the clips without laughing confirmed it.
Len, Arlene and Steve provide the classics
The selection mixed new material with favourites from earlier shows. Len Goodman and Arlene Phillips sounded unusually close while sharing a caravan on Holiday of My Lifetime. A familiar Steve Wright moment over Enya returned with extra noises and became almost impossible to finish.
Rhianna repeatedly recovered enough to attack Chris again. She knew when to wait, when to refill and how to use the other player’s laughter against him, producing the balanced contest that made her earlier appearances so successful.
Scott welcomed Rhianna as “Rhianna off of films”, the nickname that distinguished the film critic from the singer whenever she returned to the show.
An amnesty for borrowed clothes
Chris admitted that he had accumulated clothes belonging to friends. A borrowed jumper had remained with him for so long that returning it felt more awkward than keeping it. He had also built a collection of socks from his girlfriend’s father by borrowing pairs during overnight stays and never taking them back.
Listeners recognised the problem from both sides. Some wore friends’ hoodies while carefully avoiding the owner; others discovered their own clothes appearing in photographs from nights out. Scott proposed an amnesty during which everybody could return items without questions.
Zane presents his new Drive
Zane Lowe joined before Radio 1 Rescores Drive aired on BBC Three. He had worked with artists including Chvrches, the 1975, Bastille and Bring Me the Horizon to create new music inspired by Nicolas Winding Refn’s film rather than simply replacing its original soundtrack.
Rhianna had seen the finished version and praised how naturally several songs fitted. Zane described it as an experiment and an extension of a film he loved, not an attempt to improve it.
He then played Real or No Real, allowing Scott to resume his complaint that Ryan Gosling did not need any more evidence of being perfect. A story about the actor casually distributing cookies only strengthened the case Scott was trying to oppose.
