Chloë Grace Moretz comes to Breakfast
Chloë Grace Moretz joined Scott and Chris ahead of Kick-Ass 2 and immediately proved far more relaxed than Chris expected from a 16-year-old Hollywood star. She admitted TK Maxx was a guilty pleasure after photographers caught her leaving with bags, talked about British television including EastEnders, and joked her way through Scott and Chris’s increasingly unreliable recommendations of daytime programmes.
The most impressive part for Chris was her stunt work. Chloë described learning fight choreography move by move until it became muscle memory, then explained how a mistimed hydraulic stunt involving a van had thrown her painfully into the metal side. Insurance prevented her doing absolutely everything, but much more of Hit-Girl’s action was genuinely hers than Scott expected.
Chloë also talked about staying grounded with family and good people around her. When Chris revealed Scott had another mystery celebrity interview prepared, Scott secretly showed Chloë the name. She thought the star would take to Chris well, a reassurance which somehow made him even more nervous.
Rizzle Kicks play Innuendo Bingo
Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sulé from Rizzle Kicks became the Breakfast Show’s first Innuendo Bingo guests of the week. The move to mornings had not changed the rules: full mouths of water, no hands and no sympathy once the clips began.
The game gave new Breakfast listeners the full version of a feature Scott and Chris had built in the afternoon slot. Chloë watched clips while she was in the studio and liked the idea enough for Scott to start talking about getting Hollywood stars involved in future.
How many favourite pies can one stranger have?
Challenge two of Scott versus Chris sent both presenters onto the street to ask strangers for their favourite pie, then their second favourite, third favourite and so on until the victim finally refused to continue.
Scott’s man Tom somehow supplied 13, moving from chicken curry and hare through increasingly dubious fruit fillings before admitting he could not name a fourteenth. Scott thought the total would be hard to beat.
Chris found a woman who was spectacularly patient. Even as rain started she continued through kidney, apple, blueberry, grape and increasingly improvised answers until reaching 28. Asked for a 29th, she finally said she really needed to get back to work.
Chris won the round and levelled the Breakfast scoreboard at one each.
Toilet attendants update the club classics
A discussion about a reality show filmed in nightclub toilets led listeners to remember attendants who turned popular songs into hygiene reminders. A caller described one who changed Pitbull’s “Give Me Everything” into lyrics about washing hands, while listeners contributed newer versions involving One Direction and other chart hits.
Scott preferred the singing attendants to the standard collection of stock phrases heard in club toilets and wanted to know whether anybody had successfully updated the repertoire for 2013.
