Scott blames Jessie J after a Britain’s Got Talent near-miss
Scott returned from appearing on Britain’s Got More Talent with an entirely disproportionate grievance against Jessie J. He had been backstage for a filmed non-surprise, bursting through paper in his underwear while David Hasselhoff waited on the other side. In the narrow corridor, however, Jessie J had warmed up with a piercing note close to him, and Scott maintained that he could still not hear properly from his left ear.
Beccy encouraged him to pursue a compensation claim, complete with a television-advert style accusation that “Jessie J did it”. Scott was careful to say she was a brilliant singer, but kept returning to the shrill warm-up and his supposed injury. The team also took apart the Britain’s Got Talent auditions, from the woman who simply walked dogs across the stage to the unfortunate contestant who expected applause that never arrived.
The day’s Danny Howard points question concerned Vincent on The Apprentice and the number of times he said “sure” in the boardroom. Listeners and the studio tried to predict it, then heard a montage of the phrase until even Scott admitted Vincent had said it rather a lot. The final total was 17, a satisfyingly specific answer to an extremely niche question.
There was a more practical thread when Beccy explained that busy trains often left her without a seat. Chris proposed the camping-chair solution again, convinced that commuters should simply arrive equipped with their own furniture. The idea was no less ridiculous on its second outing, but Scott enjoyed how seriously Chris defended it.
The show also looked ahead to the team’s own version of the station’s “face your fear” feature: Face Your Fantasy. The proposed fantasies were not promising. Beccy wanted to be Kate Middleton for a day, while Chris’s ideas were mostly food-based, including an endless lasagne. The result was a programme where Scott’s injured ear, a fictional legal claim and a royal makeover all seemed more plausible than Chris bringing a camping chair onto a rush-hour train.
