Scott accidentally avoids a taxi fare

A taxi driver contacted the programme after Scott tapped his card and left before checking whether the payment had gone through.

The driver told him not to worry and suggested giving the money to charity instead.

Scott described himself as a minor criminal and promised to make the donation.

An urgent Music Police update

The force had declared Marianne’s mystery solved as the Brand New Heavies’ Spend Some Time.

Detectives from the dance-music division noticed that her most distinctive “hey, yeah, yeah” section was not present in quite the form she remembered.

The correct answer was a Mollison and Malone remix that sampled the Brand New Heavies recording.

Marianne listened again and confirmed that the remix was definitely the version she had known.

Scott released the original from custody and issued a new warrant for the remix.

The case was closed for a second time.

The Birthday Game: Katie

Katie from Manchester turned 34.

She enjoyed weightlifting, including back squats and sled pushes, and took satisfaction in adding more weight after muscular men assumed she would need their plates removed.

Katie had previously competed in CrossFit-style events but now trained for herself.

She wanted something upbeat and danceable and admitted she often recognised songs without knowing their titles or performers.

Her first spin was Edison Lighthouse’s Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes). Katie rejected it as too romantic so close to Valentine’s Day.

The second was Lily Allen’s The Fear. She liked it but decided the title did not provide sufficiently happy birthday energy.

Her compulsory third song was LMC versus U2’s Take Me to the Clouds Above.

Katie recognised every word despite not knowing the artist and was delighted with the result.

The Wonder Years

The Friday Wonder Years began in 1983 and aimed to move through to 1989.

Handover

Scott handed over to Sara Cox after closing Marianne’s case properly and beginning the Wonder Years.
