The rice tasting is postponed
Paul from Hull was due to try rice for the first time at the age of 54.
Shortly after the programme began, he sent a voice note explaining that he was stuck in traffic and would not reach the show in time.
Paul also revealed that his 47-year-old sister and 57-year-old brother had never eaten rice either. Their 83-year-old mother had tried it once and disliked it.
Scott concluded that rice had simply never formed part of the family’s meals and postponed the tasting until the following week.
He apologised to anyone who had tuned in specifically to hear a man eat rice.
Coronation concert ballot
The ballot opened for 10,000 free tickets to the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle.
The concert would take place on 7 May and be broadcast across the BBC.
Scott predicted that demand would resemble the competition for Beyoncé tickets.
Rihanna’s Super Bowl challenge
Scott looked ahead to Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime performance.
She had 13 minutes to represent around 17 years of music and admitted that several songs had to be removed from the set.
Scott said he would be unhappy if Pon de Replay failed to appear.
The weekend would also contain the BRIT Awards, with performances from Lizzo, Harry Styles, Lewis Capaldi and Cat Burns.
What should you do with your tongue at the dentist?
Scott asked dentists where patients should place their tongues during treatment.
He regularly found himself accidentally licking the dentist’s hand and wanted clear instructions.
Jen, a hygienist in Hove, advised keeping the tongue relaxed on the floor of the mouth.
Paula in Cardiff offered the opposite advice and suggested lifting it to the roof of the mouth, like lifting your feet while somebody hoovers.

Bobby Pryor admitted she had once fallen asleep during a root canal because she regarded it as a way of mentally checking out.
The Birthday Game: Emma
Emma from Bushey turned 50 and celebrated with lunch, another meal in the evening and a family skiing holiday in France.
She played netball and admitted she disliked losing.
Her first spin was Kenny Rogers’ Coward of the County, number one in 1980. Emma rejected it.
The second was Do the Bartman by The Simpsons, number one in 1991. She could vaguely remember it but chose to gamble.
Her compulsory final song was Mika’s Grace Kelly, number one in 2007.
Emma called it the best of the three, while listeners agreed it was a strong Friday birthday choice.
