Chris Ramsey comes prepared
Comedian Chris Ramsey arrived knowing there was a very good chance he would leave wetter than he entered. With spare clothes an obvious requirement for Innuendo Bingo, he had taken the preparation to its logical conclusion and turned up in a onesie.
Before the water, he talked about his stand-up tour, The Most Dangerous Man on Saturday Morning Television, and the stories behind it. Television work including Celebrity Juice also came up as Scott tried to get through the conventional interview before the feature everyone was waiting for.
Ramsey versus Cairney
Gemma Cairney joined Ramsey for Innuendo Bingo. The clips offered Courtney Pine and a “big horn”, a passenger’s girth in a discussion about being too fat to fly, the recurring gear-stick line and various contributions from Countryfile, radio and television.
There were references to a bird box’s bottom hole, “pictures of my jam”, a gap between balls and a hole and the sort of innocent sentences that sound entirely different once two people are sitting opposite each other with water in their mouths.
Ramsey and Cairney were comprehensively soaked. The cold water became as much a subject as the clips themselves, but the onesie at least meant one participant had arrived with a plan.
Mrs X keeps dating
The anonymous Tinder experiment was gathering pace. Mrs X had been going on first dates and now had a new story about a man whose afternoon drinking had carried straight into their evening.
He was late, in a bad mood and already very drunk. During the date he managed to fall over a bar stool and declined food because the smell was making him feel ill. When it was time to leave, Mrs X described him staggering as he accompanied her home.
The surprise was that she did not dismiss him completely. Underneath the disastrous evening she thought he seemed nice enough that another meeting was still possible. It was an appropriately strange development in a Tinder experiment that was increasingly producing stories faster than Scott could process them.
