Rihanna has closed a spectacular weekend in Hackney after a two days packed full of live music for Radio 1.
“Hackney, you’re crazier than they told me!” shouted the pop princess as she opened the event.
Sunday’s line up included surprise guest Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah, Florence and the Machine, and Plan B.
Unlike the wet and muddy Isle of Wight festival, the weather remained reasonably dry with only a few quick showers during the afternoon.
Speaking after the event, Radio 1 controller Ben Cooper said: “This weekend Hackney, Jay-Z, Rhianna and Radio 1 celebrated 2012 together.
“I’d like to thank the young people of Hackney for welcoming Radio 1/1Xtra over the past three weeks – from those who got involved in the academy to those who enjoyed the amazing line-up of UK and international artist this weekend.
“It’s been an inspiration.”
