Does anyone else miss DJ's having a "big thing"...?
I think it really demonstrates the personality of the DJ and its nice to see them get truely passionate about music they have chosen to back, instead of being forced to back the track of the day.
Anyone else fee the same way? Opinions please!

How embarrassing for the radio one bosses would it be if Scott had a bigger audience than the breakfast show!
Well Grimmy lost 300,000 but remember Radio 1 as a whole lost circa 300,000 listeners in last quater. Poor Grimmy has to take the flack as he is breakfast show host, but all shows would have lost listeners, Scott included. Its normal for Q3 RAJARS to be that way.

Agree. Its actually makes for quite disturbing listening! Its difficult because I really like the actual chart show itself, but the bits inbetween the songs when she speaks, it makes my teeth go all funny.

Agreed, listening also. She's good. A natural on air. Hopefully bosses will realise her talent and when they need a replacement for Fearne they'll replace her with Alice, rather than Gemma or Jameela who I keep on trying to listen to, but their shows are just awful. Alice is very good in the evenings also with Phil. They are both BY FAR the best newer signings Radio 1 have had for a while.
Really agree with this. Alice is a fantastic, intelligent presenter who actually has a guenuine interest in music. I really hope if nothing else, that Alice becomes Fearnes permenant cover presenter now Coxy has left (sob :crying:) . Im not sure what happened in that blip when they signed Gemma and Jameela. MASSIVE error of judgement. Especially Jameela...

That would be great. As well as the bios, would it be good to have a separate wiki page for the chronology of The Scott Mills Show as a whole? And maybe a page for Chris Stark and maybe current producers of Cara and Chris? Howver, its difficult to write much about them as they both have non-speaking roles!

I seem to only be able to access the Scott Mills page with other team members but unable to edit it. I cant see any other pages either. Is anyone else having this trouble?

You might want to to re-read this article as I think you have been confused.
Quarter 3 RAJARS are always a bit of a dip across all stations, including Radio 2. Year on year they have improved, but quarter on quarter they have dropped. Infact in terms of listener numbers, Chris Evans actaully lost more:
Radio 2 Q2 = 15.44m Q3 = 14.94
Chris Evans Q2 = 9.75m Q3 = 9.35m
So although I'm sure Grimmy and Radio 1 are disappointed, it was to be expected, as it across all networks, I gather due to summer holidays. Of the listeners lost, it suggests 72% are over 30, so I think its more about refining audience then losing audience! Still got to feel sorry for the poor guy though!

I thought it was just through more music month that they were doing a track of the day for? We are now 8th October and they are still on!
Are "Big Things" (still hate that phrase!), previously known as Record of the Week's coming back? I much prefer that format.

Its already gone. My friend was a project manager for the removal of all equipment to handover building from BBC to new occupiers.

I was thinking about a website actually, because with Chris having left, CM.net is hardly used, and this is mainly focussed on Scott. I think it would be good to have one to give Grimmy and Greg some more limelight, I just dont have the knowhow to design a website - I am more then happy to be an admin for it though if you need one

Dont get me wrong, I really like Huw Stephens.
I just think Matt Edmondson is more suited to Scott's audience. And it has been mentioned so many times on this forum and also how great everyone thought he was sitting in for Scott on his last holiday. I'm sure decision makers at Radio 1 read these forums, so you never know, things might change!

Well, technically Matt Edmonson has a daily one too. He gets separate ones for both Saturday and Sunday.
But yeah, Greg's will probably be weekly. I wish Grimmy had daily ones. His weekly one is rubbish, gave up on them long ago - only interviews make the cut. Team banter which is the most enjoyable part of the show for me, rarely makes it at all.
I really couldnt agree with you more here! The actual laugh out loud moments are from the team chat, such as the 6:45am link. Definately needs to be more general chat in....

Its actually a bit cringeworthy hearing the chart just because its SO scripted its feels very false! Also, maybe its my inner anorakness, but I quite like watching them drive the desk when they are visualised! Its so much more interesting then just looking at them. The cynic inside me thinks that it was probably because Jameela was just so terrible at working the desk thats probably why they changed the format so a producer does it instead.

I'd be interested to see if they keep Matt Edmondson as deputy for Scotts show. I thought he was absoutely excellent in last 2 weeks and doesnt get nearly enough airtime. I think Huw gets a too bigger bite of the cherry, and if he wasnt already in for Zane he would be in for Scott instead. I do like Huw, but its nice to hear Matt Edmondson on a lot more.

Dont forget that Fearne will harp on just as much about baby Rex now! Personally I find Sara's chat much more intesting then Fearne, as Sara is naturally witty. Fearne just talked about baking the whole time, and now it will be babies and baking. I'm already dreading it.
