@TheEpicPlumSorry for the delay, I've updated the post with a link that works
-
Did a search for this but couldn't find anything (apologies if it's already been mentioned).
I was only expecting to see Chris for a second or two, but I was pleasantly surprised

Listening to todays podcast, and someones seriously cocked up. three tracks at least are included. in full, including the number one. and the tail end of newsbeat. oops.

Noel Fielding has ruined the show
Yes!!! :x :x

Is it Scott doing the auto-tuned vocals? If it is, wow, those music producers can make anyone sound amazing !
-
Is anyone having problems downloading Monday's podcast which they put up tonight? They've uploaded last Monday's one with Verne Troyer by accident. You've disappointed me Beccy!
-
What is it called?? (The file I mean).
She's the female Irish voice - Kathy
-
Is anyone going to go and be in the audience at all next week?

Well Laura left 28th March '08 on Scott's birthday so presumably Beccy joined a few days later but didn't appear on-air until the whole ghosts at Radio 1 thing.
Bloody hell, doesn't seem that long ago!
I miss Laura, no one can really ever replace her  ...unless Beccy's sister can dig up an old diary perhaps :hahaha:

I was surprised at how good the PR4L could sing! Bless her. I wish they featured Chappers a bit more, seems like Rob's getting more stage time lol. Anyone notice the people who decided to stand up right at the end of the 3rd part?

Just downloaded the podcast of yesterday's show, and Scott was looking for people with a flight simulator for Becky to discover if it's her forte.
So does it work? As I sat in the captain's seat, the simulator - which is modelled on the cockpit of a Boeing 737-800 and has realistic engine noises - seemed daunting, but Stephen James, a pilot with eight years' experience, explained all the buttons, dials and screens in front of me. Time for take-off. There is a choice of more than 500 international airports from which to simulate take-offs and landings - ours was Heathrow. Take-off is one of the most complex parts of a flight, but I was struck by how straightforward it was, and before I knew it we were cruising at 7,000ft.http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2009/jul/26/flight-simulator-bluewater
It could be filmed n everything!

No one notice they mentioned it on the show? :|

Old mid 80's Fisher and Paykel top loader.
Goes like a rocket!
By 'goes like a rocket' I actually mean that literally.
It actually shakes the house.
It's the loudest most violent sounding washing machine I have ever encountered.
It makes guests scared and children cry. I've lived with it like that for almost a year and it still scares me.
Once while washing a load of towells it got a bit out of balance and it got so out of control for a minute that I swear I actually saw a porthole to another dimension open above it just for a second, there were dinosaurs on the otherside and they looked scared too, it almost sucked me in but I held onto for my life to the deepfreeze. It sucked my shoes and pants off though and it got the iron as well which pissed me off because it was quite a good one. Luckily it sucked it's own power cord out of the wall and stopped before the whole house went in.
I drew a picture of the dinosaurs i saw incase people didn't believe me, they are partly red because my green felt ran out half way through.
I think it would be good to paint it matt black and put steel spikes all over it and draw demons on the front, however I have added an image of another possible customization option for people who like horses.
On heavy duty spin cycle it sort of sounds a bit like the tortured howls of 1000 undead writhing in the sulphury pits of hell mixed with a train with carriages full of scrap iron sliding down the road with no wheels, on fire, into a bell factory.
Thankfully it's bite is not as bad as it's bark. It washes fine, completes cycles, does everything it's supposed to.
It leaks a bit when it's running, always has.
Its a bit grubby, could do with a wipe down, I refuse to touch it because I'm still getting over the whole dinosaur scare thing.
If your in a fix and need a cheap washing machine and are either completely deaf or hate your neighbours this baby is for you.
$1 reserve, pick up only, Waterview Auckland.
Selling to pay for my counseling.
The Q&As at the bottom really make it funny :hahaha:
Question: Why are you even doing the washing? Don't you have a wife? moochiecat (109 ) 8:50 am, Tue 9 JunAnswer: Well I DID...I didn't bring that up as I didn't want to put buyers off. I'm afraid it took her too. It's ok though at least she still has the iron. 9:55 am, Tue 9 Jun
Question: Did you see any hot cavemen through the portal? Not only do I need a washing machine but I need someone to do the lawns and fix the squeeky door karen_bryan (58 ) 12:54 pm, Tue 9 JunAnswer: Look lady I was terrified and holding on for my life. I didn't really have time to sum up the hotness of cavemen as my pants and shoes were being sucked into the vortex of death. I only remembered seeing the dinosaurs because it was quite remarkable. I've seen a lot of cave men before, I grew up in Waiuku. But dinosaurs is a first for me. 2:17 pm, Tue 9 Jun
Thought Becky might appreciate this for her classifieds

Maybe the price of tanning is on the up? Either that or he's due for more teeth work
-
how much of daytime radio 1 (or specialist to be honest) is actually indie (meaning independent music), most bands are signed apart from in huw music we trust (who often plays demos)
Alright then, if it was the latest uninspiring stuff from Coldplay, The Killers or Snow Patrol almost everyone would be creaming themselves over it
-
This is a chooon!
If they can get away with playing Basshunter, then why not this?! Yes it's camp, but then so's September, and she's still popular...
It's a good original song in the style of Uniting Nations / Sunset Strippers / 2004 commercial dance, but so what? R1 has played worse songs by worse "dance" artists (Basshunter, Cascada etc.)
It's cheesy, yes, but just enjoy it and stop moaning because it isn't indie 8)
-
Back Door Love! Haven't heard that song in ages
-
Basement Jaxx are a bit overrated tbh

Season 7 is technically still running in the US (depends if you're talking about broadcast or production seasons). The season starts off pretty crap, but then that's because the writers strike was on, and Seth didn't have a final say in what went into those episodes, but the further on the season goes, the better it gets!
I'm going to put it out there that the latest season of American Dad is better than the newest season of Family Guy..
..just putting it out there..

I have quite a lot but I'm not sure which ones are up already. I also have some even older ones I think on an old laptop.
Do you have any pre-july 06? Also, it's worth uploading Beccy The Vegetarian because for some reason my one is 30mins of silence
-
I've uploaded every podcast I have from Nov 08- Nov 07 and I'm still doing more as and when I can..
Poor Jono's got the unenviable task of doing all the html
-
Mostly I buy the actual CDs anyway. There's something satisfying about having an actual CD in your hand.
Agreed, there's really nothing like having a physical copy of something
-
Sounds and looks like something that Black Kids would do lol
Say farewell to Scott and Chris from Radio 1!
in The Scott Mills Show
Posted
Hi Scott.
I'm happy that you're staying with the BBC and going off to the place that all decent Radio 1 DJs go to retire, Radio 2. I hope this change of scenary will mean a sequal to your autobiography? I haven't read many autobiographies, but that was definitely one I found the most interesting!
I grew up in the days when you and Chappers made those prank phone calls to the pizza takeaway and book stores - it was a shame these had to stop, but like all good things they had to come to an end I suppose.
Hope to see you on my TV at Eurovision 2023!
Rob
