Ha! Metrostation playing again as I type this!!!! :hahaha:
-
Metrostation - 'Shake It' is another for the overplayed list!! :bored:
-
There were the inevitable wind-ups, if you had hair it would be grey, how does it feel to be 50 etc etc. Quite funny.
Happy Birthday Dom :
-
It didnt grab me on first play yesterday but then neither did 'Bodies' and I ended up quite liking that. Need to hear it a few times I think.
-
Maybe more to the point, was Paolo when he was performing it?!! :hahaha:
-
Busy weekend so not had chance to listen yet. Moyles was singing his praises this morning and said his MGMT cover was fantastic!!??!!
-
It was pretty good. I was surprised at some of the songs, how far back they went - e.g. Stevie Wonder, Superstition. Good stuff.......
-
It's only bley Friday!
Those are the words I love to hear - its officially the weekend, bring it onnnn!!!! :
-
I missed it this morning, did anybody hear it and what was the cover?
-
Pendulum on Moyles again this morning 7.41 !!!!
-
To be honest, the songs mentioned in the first post aren't THAT bad...
Noooo, I wasnt saying they are bad songs, quite the opposite. Just that you get a bit tired of hearing the same recurrents over and over, hence my point!
-
I think they ought to add a few more recurrent songs to their daytime playlist, I'm hearing these just a bit too often lately:
Pendulum - Propane Nightmares
Panic At The Disco - Nine In The Afternoon
Chemical Bros - Galvanise
Hoosiers - Goodbye Mr A (playing as I type!!)
A.R.Rahman/Pussycat Dolls - J'ai Ho
Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
and the most outplayed song of all time, (not just on R1) The Killers - Human
What do you think?
-
In fairness, its difficult when songs have to be put into the log literally at the last minute. It was far better to let the song overrun than fade it half way through to get the top of the hour timing right.
-
I like the 10-hour takeovers, but not so much this short version!! There must be a knack to getting your song in just on time, me thinks.
There is, its called effective back-timing!
-
I'm not sure about 'The 10 minute Take Over' either - its too random. Yesterday the last song was 'Bohemian Rhapsody' OK, its a classic but its a song that would never normally find its way onto the R1 daytime playlist. It also ran over by almost 3 minutes into Scott's show! Overall though, I think Greg is doing a good job on afternoons.
-
I just know you'd like to know 'Pencil Full Of Lead' is playing right now on Fearne's show - be quick or you'll miss it!!!!
-
Coxy and Amanda Lamb? Sounds an interesting combination.
'Escape To The Pre-Natal Clinic' maybe? tee hee :hahaha:
Oooh look, I'm now Grimmers!!
-
Check Greg Lake out here..........
-
Yep, both acceptable. Jona Lewie and The Waitresses are more no-nos.......
Greg Lake was a member of ELP (Emerson Lake and Palmer) and did "I Believe In Father Christmas" - top song IMHO
-
Any guesses as to which one? As long as its not Slade or Chris De Burgh I'm not fussed!!
Greg Lake maybe? :?:
-
I did that interview!
Tune in to www.radiosonar.co.uk (Solent Uni's Radio station) 7:30-9 tonight to catch the full interview with Scott on air!
Cheers
Mel
Well done! Will def give it a listen later......... :
-
Maybe another one today. I heard Fearne say yesterday that she and Scott are campaigning for early Christmas celebrations this year.

Are you a Guardian reader, Mr H? You're in denial.
Rajar is a load of bollocks anyway and thus should be taken with a pinch of salt.
I dont currently read any daily newspaper. I find I can get all the important news via the web.
RE Rajar, yes I agree to a point but its still officially the main source of info regarding listener figures recognised by the industry.
-
He just doesnt cut it on TV. He will surely stay in a daily slot on the radio when he does leave R1 breakfast but IMO hes not ready for R2 yet, or maybe that should be vice-versa..........
