The future of Radio 1 needs more double act shows I think as there is always too much reliance on texting and "Coming next n this was" rather than proper banter and conversation. The 10:00 and 1:00 shows I agree could be a single presenter but the rest I dont think it works just having 1 person

err I think Scott only had a week off on actual holiday didnt he? and I think its more to do with so the various show backroom staff can have a holiday too. Dev's, Edith's and Huws shows I'd imagine are pretty simple to run as cover shows so minimum staff are in.

How do Radio 1 work out how many prerecord shows are needed over Christmas? Is it that presenters are asked how many are willing to work over christmas/new year and prerecords are used to fill in the gap or Andy Parfitt/Ben Cooper decide they want all this top 10/top 40 stuff and certain highlights and nominate staff to fill in the gaps?

Jan 8th/9th in a weekend that also see's Vernon Kay return to the Sat 10am slot
